Is it that valve trademarked DotA or DOTA because they were saying their name isn't an acronym for Defense of the Ancients. I can't see them winning this because Icefrog is not the creator of DotA, he's just the current mod. Who really lays claim to the DotA name? Imo it might just happen to be Blizzard, because I'm sure with their map editor they would have had a TOS stating that they own all content made with the editor or some crap. Anybody has a clue on this?
Still searching for answer, there are no exact or official answer from any side about this.
I'm the orginal poster of the first comment. it's sad that S2 is not being clear ont he subject, even if they can't speak of it at the time they could at least let us know that it is indeed a problem and they are looking into it. Once of the reasons I bought the game was because of all the hoo ha about porting your favorite DotA heroes and whatnot. Orgignal heroes are nice but you can't deny that ports are one of the main reasons alot of ppl bought this game. To those this was suppose to be "DOTA 2". Now with Valve being able to no doubt take alot of what HoN has made work and incorporate that into all that is DotA, the buck may stop here for HoN. At least in terms of attracting more hardcore DotA players.
