New Artwork in S2Blog

So this is the update news about the test client and map editor.
Maybe we are going to get it in the next patch this week in 1.0.11.
The patch contain :

Grimm's Crossing, the complete rework of Darkwood Vale with no boss and 1 runespot in the middle.
Kraken's Tidal Pull changed to Splash and his new ulti with Tentacles ! - It's cool
Also Deadwood rework, the ulti now can strike you away !

That's some of the things in the test client.
Now about the map editor, Idejder said that in Sept, some of the crew will move to Michigan, and there'll be a downtime in office. But after that, we should get the map editor, maybe in October?

Latest tweet of S2Nome, We just finished initial concepting for a new hero :3.
Is it a port or no?I already asked him, hope we can get an early answer guys.

Okay, for now that's all, stay tune for the fastest and latest update.

Medusa Theory

I read someone in the private forum talk about this topic, so I think it's quiet interesting, so I post this with my own way.

As what you guys will know soon, Forsaken Archer's 2nd Ability the Split Shot are going to be changed into the Barbed Aura, see it in the 1.0.9 and also Electrician's Mana Shield was changed into this(in the 1.0.5) :

Electrician
- Shield is now a self target cast instead of a toggle
* Cast time removed
* Costs 20% of max mana to cast, if mana is less than that, uses all of it
* Mana consumed is applied as the shield for 12s
* Absorbs 50% of damage at the cost of 2/1.66/1.25/0.75 mana consumed per damage taken
* DPS of the shield AOE increased from 12/24/36/48 to 15/30/45/60
                                    * Shield is unremovable

So the point is, it is an undirect info that tells us that Medusa/Gorgon port is going to coming soon?
How about Furion and the INT Community Hero Contest winner?

It's just a theory and a prediction, maybe true or false, let's wait for the time to answer it.

Next Hero : Flint Beastwood or Sniper Port

Exclusive reveal at the PCgamer.com, as what I've read before in the forum, someone says the Warthogillo model, as you can see in the art library, but i'll show it here :

So that person said the next hero will be that hero, first I was thinking that's just a troll, but at the end, it will come soon.
So here is the original article I copied from pcgamer.com :

I’m convinced that the team developing new heroes for Heroes of Newerth over at S2 Games doesn’t sleep–they’re adding another new hero to the game this Friday and we’ve got the exclusive first look at the bad-tempered badass who’s dual-wielding shotguns.

Flint Beastwood is the latest Agility hero to join the Hellbourne team. Described as a “bad-tempered, dual wielding gunslinger”, Flint excels at pushing towers, providing sight for his team, and is able to engage enemies at a longer range than any other hero in the game. If there’s something more terrifying than dual-wield long-range boomsticks, I haven’t heard of it.
Let’s take a look at this orc gunner’s skills (disclaimer: ability names are not final):
  • Flare: Fire a flare at a position, dealing damage and leaving a slow-burning glow that slows enemies and provides sight.
  • Sharpshooter: Passively deal extra damage and a mini-stun on occasion.
  • Long Barrel: Passively increases attack range.
  • Focused Fire: After taking time to line a shot, Flint fires at a faraway enemy, dealing critical damage.

Flint is being introduced on live servers via a patch this Friday, August 13, so be careful this weekend–Flint’s gunning for you!

NOTE : I think 99% Flint Beastwood is Kardel Sharpeye port, but then what about Scout?

Test the Next Patch ! New item/reworks/XP system/code optimizations/etc

Hey guys,

To those of you who helped us beta test HoN, you may be familiar with our test client system. To those of you who didn't (or never participated in a test patch), here's your chance to help with HoN's continued development.

We have a second HoN Client available, called our Test Client. This client installs to a different directory than normal retail HoN and updates separately. On it we've got new content that is just waiting to be tested. The reason we put these changes on a test client, rather than patch it directly to the full game, is that we're trying some exciting new things that we want to really test thoroughly before putting it in the full game. We've got some reworks, some new items, some changes to the experience system (based on how experience for hero kills is awarded to reward more aggressive early game play), and a ton of crash fixes and performance optimizations. Later in the week we will even be putting a new hero onto the test client.

In order to help us test this upcoming content and give us the feedback we need to polish and balance and fix up the patch, you'll need to visit our super secret Upcoming Content forum. The forum, along with a full changelog, can be found here:
http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33
password = scoutisimba

Do not share information from inside the forum with the outside. Our moderators will come down on anyone who does this - until we're ready to unveil the contents of the upcoming patch officially, keep all discussion on our IRC channels or in the forum itself. That said, the forum is clearly very widely accessible and anyone who wants to participate in the test may do so. We'd just rather not see discussion of the upcoming content spill out into our regular forums just yet.

Anytime this week, grab the test client and try to play some games. We encourage players to try to get on around 2pm PDT / 9pm GMT, but you can hop on and test whenever you like.

Please communicate thoughts / first impressions / etc within the upcoming content forum.

This Friday Nigth We..

... Not Patch!

But, we figured we would share one of the new ideas that we are working on for the next patch.

KEEP THIS IN MIND:
This is just an internal idea that is still in the "Playtesting" stages. This might not ever make it into the game if we find a better solution to what it is doing, but we are confident enough to share this with you all. No numbers since everything is in flux. Everything is subject to change. Everything. Deal with it!

Striders

Marchers + Recipe

Very cheap boots, gives just base Marchers movespeed and no other stats.

When you are out of combat for a little while, they build up bonus movespeed that you retain until you attack, cast a spell, get hit, or use an item (except wards or bottle, those don't reset it).

The point is to give a roamer/ganker who doesn't always get the last hits (or any farm at all) a cheap pair of boots that gives them awesome mobility. This lets them get from one lane to another much faster, but once they enter combat the boots are equivalent to just Marchers.

They are quite fun to play with I must say. =]

That's all for now, you will find out more when we patch!
